2023 Capital Campaign Appeal

December 2023

Dear Friend and Neighbor:

We are thrilled to announce that the Surgical Pavilion is now open!   The new state-of-the-art facility includes three operating rooms and one procedure room to provide a variety of surgical services for our community for the next 50+ years.  An original hospital window, discovered during construction, has been restored and installed in the Surgical Pavilion Lobby to preserve and honor the hospital’s legacy and symbolize Lewis County Health System’s commitment to building the future of healthcare for our rural community for generations to come.

The next phase of the capital project will include completion of the remainder of the private patient rooms and the new five-bed Critical Care Unit (CCU) on the Medical/Surgical Wing.  The entire capital project is slated to be completed by late Spring 2024.

We have an exciting opportunity to share with you!  An anonymous donor has offered a $50,000 matching gift to support the Honoring the Legacy, Building the Future Capital Campaign.  This means that every new gift to the campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000!  This remarkable act of generosity will double the impact of every dollar donated to the Capital Campaign.  Your contribution, no matter the amount, will go twice as far in helping us reach our campaign goal of $2.4 million.

Don’t miss your chance to DOUBLE your financial impact! Just mail your gift to: Lewis County Hospital Foundation, 7785 North State Street, Lowville, NY 13367.   You may also make a secure on-line gift to the campaign at: www.lewiscountyhospitalfoundation.org.  To discuss additional ways you can support the Capital Campaign, please call the Hospital Foundation office  at 315-376-5110 or email jrhubart@lcgh.net.

The Lewis County Hospital Foundation is honored to raise funds to support this important capital project at Lewis County General Hospital and is humbled by the generosity of our community.  The $32 million bond for the capital project is a huge investment in our hospital, but as a community member stated, “This project is pricey, but our hospital is priceless if you are sick or hurt.”  We agree!

Please join us in supporting our hospital with a charitable donation to the Honoring the Legacy, Building the Future Capital Campaign.

With gratitude,

JoAnne Rhubart. Executive Director
