Goats in Pink Collars
Updated: Nov 20, 2019
Hidden Pastures Dairy held a "Goats in Pink Collars" fundraiser in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to support the Lewis County General Hospital's Fund for Hope.
Blake Place, who co-owns Hidden Pastures Dairy in Glenfield with her husband Andrew, wrote a check for $2,070 to Lewis County General Hospital's (LCGH) Fund for Hope from her #goatsinpinkcollars fundraiser that took place throughout the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Community members were encouraged to purchase a pink collar for $10.00 each. When a collar was sold, it was placed on a goat at Hidden Pastures Dairy. Mrs. Place challenged the community to meet her goal of selling 200 pink collars to support the LCGH Fund for Hope.
When the fundraiser was over at the end of October, Mrs. Place had met and exceeded her goal. The fundraiser sold 207 pink collars!
The Fund for Hope assists cancer patients who live in Lewis County or use Lewis County General Hospital services with their cancer treatment travel expenses.
Mrs. Place hopes to make the "Goats in Pink Collars" fundraiser and annual event.
